The 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD can tow up to 36,000 pounds-achieved when you choose the available 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 engine. That engine produces 470 horsepower and an impressive 975 pound-feet of torque, paired with an Allison-certified 10-speed automatic.

The standard 6.6L V-8 gas engine delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, making it capable as well. Both versions work with either single- or dual-rear-wheel axles (dually configuration).

To maximize towing performance, GMC added smart trailer-assist features: Transparent Trailer View lets you see behind your trailer, while Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert and available adaptive cruise control with trailering help you work smarter. The Sierra 3500 HD truly is a powerhouse for heavy loads.
